Sydney Breckner | 2020-21 Ambassador
Meet Sydney Breckner, Junior Livestock Show of Spokane Ambassador 2020-2021. Sydney is from Deer Park, Washington, where her family is actively involved in all things agriculture and FFA. Sydney grew up with a love of agriculture, participating in 4-H, FFA, and the Jr. Show – which ultimately paved the way for her career path today.
“My experience as a Jr. show exhibitor was that you take on a lot of responsibility,” Sydney said. “You get up early and go to bed late taking care of your project, but in the end, it's all worth it because you raised a good project. I really enjoyed my time as a Jr. Show exhibitor and learned a lot.”
Sydney rounded out her Jr. Show experience by serving as an Ambassador for the show. Following high school graduation, she took a gap year while she decided what route she wanted to take for a career, knowing it would be something involved with the agricultural realm.
“Today, I work at Suncrest Veterinary Services, and I am going to school to be a veterinary technician,” she said.
Sydney believes there is an abundance of opportunity to learn from others at the Jr. Show.
“The advice I would give the young people exhibiting at the Jr. show would be to have fun, make new friends and keep trying, don't give up if you don't do good, learn from it and listen to what the judge says to you.”
