Gavin Hanson: Past Ambassador
Gavin Hanson, originally from Elk, Washington, served as a Junior Livestock Show of Spokane Ambassador from 2020-2021, after exhibiting at the show every year since 3rd grade.
Today, he is in Omaha, Nebraska, finishing his bachelor’s of radiation therapy and going on the achieve a masters in medical Dosimetry.
“The Jr. show was an opportunity to advocate for agriculture and 4-H’ers,” he said. “It was always looked forward to as an escape from school and an opportunity to work with animals I loved.”
Gavin is proud of his roots in agriculture and the leadership opportunities he has been afforded up until now, as his has given him a leg-up in his future profession.
“Health care is the path I have taken and being in leadership roles like ambassador of Jr. Show has helped me achieve my goals. Managers want people who work hard and don’t mind being leaders in their area.”
Looking back on his time at the show, he leaves our 2024 showmen with sound advice.
“My advice is do not think that what you do for the show and to be successful at the show goes away on Sunday of the show. All the challenges, achievements, friends made, and memories will help shape you who you are to become.”
