The 89th Annual Junior Livestock Show of Spokane is Coming to Town

SPOKANE, Wash. (April 15, 2024) – Since 1936, hundreds of families have converged on the Spokane area to exhibit their 4-H and FFA livestock projects in the annual Junior Livestock Show of Spokane. Show management and dedicated volunteers are excited to keep the 89-year tradition alive and well. The 2024 edition will be held May 1-4 at the Spokane County Fair & Expo Center.

Over 450 youth exhibitors are expected to participate in the annual event. Livestock entries include cattle, sheep, goats, and hogs. Exhibitors will compete in quality and showmanship, judging and speaking contests, and more. The event draws livestock enthusiasts from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and beyond.

“Our board and dedicated group of volunteers are committed to uphold our goals of providing a high-quality event in a fun and welcoming atmosphere. This can be accomplished in and out of the showring, through competition and new activities, as well as leadership and educational opportunities. It is a time to celebrate our agriculture industry while allowing youth exhibitors to grow and develop through their livestock projects. They are the future leaders of the ag industry,” said Lori Williams, executive director.

The event also includes an annual market livestock auction. The auction will be held Saturday, May 4 at the Spokane County Fairgrounds. This is the culmination of a year’s worth of preparation for the youth exhibitors. New bidders are welcome to register the day of the event to bid on animals for custom processing. The public may also participate in support of youth projects by buying and turning the animal or by pledging support funds. More information can be found at juniorshow.org or by calling the show office at 509-535-6737.
