AIMS AND PURPOSES

The Board of Directors of the Junior Livestock Show of Spokane is dedicated to administer a junior livestock show  for youth exhibitors.  Providing a  venue to educate and  promote the value of  agri-business to those who participate, through raising and marketing a livestock project.  The Junior Livestock Show of Spokane is a non-profit, equal opportunity organization and does  not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, gender, national origin or disability.


 

OUR OBJECTIVES ARE:  TO PROVIDE

A JUNIOR LIVESTOCK SHOW

AS A MEANS OF ASSISTING YOUTH BY...

    1.  Offering a unique educational and social  experience to the youth of the Inland Northwest, relating to their livestock projects, activities, personal skills and accomplishments.

 

    2.  Providing recognition and inspiration to 4-H and FFA members for their accomplishments within their livestock project areas and to their parents, leaders and advisors for their encouragement and leadership of these exhibitors, toward greater success, as they go on to meet life=s challenges.

 

    3.  Presenting the opportunity to have their animals appraised by the most competent judges and to experience victory or defeat thus promoting a healthy competitive spirit that will benefit them in future endeavors in modern society.

    4.  Exhibitors who are in the Junior class in high school have the opportunity to become an Ambassador of Jr. Show.  Gaining leadership and experience in public speaking to promote the Show.  Those chosen will receive scholarships to further their education.

    5.  Opportunity is provided to exhibitors to become acquainted with business leaders and those who purchase their animals and help finance the Show, thus making important contacts that may benefit the exhibitor in the future.

THESE OBJECTIVES MAY BE ACHIEVED BY . . . . .

Raising, showing and marketing a livestock project. Participating in Livestock and Meats Judging Contests; Public Speaking Contests, Demonstrations and Educational displays relating to the livestock industry.
